The Nonprofit Management Certificate Program consists of eight full-day sessions, providing in-depth instruction on key components of nonprofit operations. Participants will develop comprehensive skills to effectively lead and manage successful nonprofit organizations, guided by our expert instructors.
The program covers strategic planning, program evaluation, human resources & volunteer management, financial management, risk management and legal compliance, fund development, and marketing. Our eighth session is usually a bonus topic that covers a timely topic. Participants must attend seven out of the eight sessions to receive their certificate. Certificate program sessions are from 9:00 to 4:00 pm. And in person. Certificate program sessions require advance registration and registration fees.

Certificate Session Overview:
Board Governance: Participants will learn about leading practices for board governance and actionable steps their nonprofit can implement in this interactive educational session.
Fundraising: This session explores the essentials to finding and cultivating financial resources that support delivering on the organization’s mission.
Risk Management & Legal Compliance: Participants will learn the strategies and tools to make sure their organization is prepared for any threat. Participants will also learn about the legal structures and practices to have in place to protect your agency and ensure you are operating effectively.
Financial Management & Business Practices: Financial management is essential for effective and legal nonprofit operations. Learn proper nonprofit accounting structures and statutes, accountability, internal controls, and financial risk management, as well as the essential role that technology plays in delivering effective financial management.
Nonprofit Strategy & Strategic Plan: Gain an understanding of HR policies and procedures, benefits and compensation, and hiring processes that are unique to nonprofits. Learn about managing volunteers, stewarding volunteers, and creating a meaningful experience.
Program Planning, Evaluation & Sustainability: Participants will learn how to measure all aspects of an organization’s growth, including programs. Participants will be introduced to tools and tricks of the trade for efficient and effective data-driven decision-making and effective storytelling.
Branding, Marketing & PR for Nonprofit: Participants will discover the basic elements of the branding and marketing process for today’s nonprofit organization, from messaging to a marketing plan, as well as strategies for social media and media relations.
